Congratulations it's due date time! You’ve made it! You’ve completed 38 weeks of gestation and performed life's greatest miracle, creating a living being.

If you’re wondering why you’re still pregnant, remember that only five percent of women deliver on their due dates.

Have a comfortable labour and a happy delivery, and please send us your personal birth story! It's great way to share your miracle and give back to women expecting in the future.  You can also send free, interactive birth announcements to your friends and family!

What’s Happening With Your Body?
You’re not OVER-due for another two weeks. It’s hard to wait, isn’t it? Your labour may be induced if your care provider feels the foetus is in danger or is getting too large. Some people suggest the following ways to induce labour naturally:

  • A bumpy car ride!
  • Raspberry tea
  • Castor oil
  • Nipple stimulation
  • Intercourse

Check with your Doctor before trying ANY of these methods!

Spend this time relaxing, playing with your partner, and maybe catching up on your reading or movie watching.  Once the baby has arrived, she will be your total focus for quite some time.  This is also a great time to do a little research on parenting.   Mumsweb continues to grow with you and your child in  The Babies section.

What’s Happening With Your Baby?
You've grown a little person! Babies come in all sizes, though the average newborn is 7 1/2 pounds and 20 inches from head to toe.
