New Dads' Guide

 Baby Blues

Men get postpartum blues too. Much is made of a new mother's baby blues, and rightly so, yet nobody talks much about the lows a new father hits just after the birth.

“I got very depressed, even though I was thrilled to be a dad," says Andre, an Accountant in Melbourne. "Because I took over the morning care of our baby, I went into the office later and simply didn't have enough time for work. All of the sudden, I had only seven hours to accomplish a ten-hour job. I was always behind -- which felt to me like I'd failed."

Eventually, you will learn to focus, make changes on the job to become more effective, and set new priorities. But until then, keep your chemistry in check. Even though you're wiped out, exercise more, jog, jump rope, go to the gym.. You'll wake up more refreshed.
