I LOVE DADS!

I just love to see dads with their kids. I love to see dads pushing prams down the street and loading the kids into the supermarket trolley and kicking the footy with them or pushing them on a swing. I love to see dads doing the school drop off or pick up in the afternoon. I just love the way in today’s society dads are a huge part of their children’s lives.

I would like to salute today’s dads for the active and caring roll they play in their families lives. A whole family benefits from the time each parent spends with them. Again I salute these dads because they are chipping away at old myths that have for centuries deprived children of the vital opportunity to know and be cared by for their fathers. I really do believe that active fathers help to create healthier marriages.

Society is slowly changing its attitude towards fathers, but it still has not fully accepted that fathers can parent just as good as mothers. Traditional fathering rolls and the belief that parenting is women’s work is slowly changing as more and more fathers are challenging and changing these traditions.

With more and more women returning to the work force after having children some fathers are deliberately taking salary cuts in order to accommodate both parents working. Hence more of a balance is created in the home with both parents teaming up to do the parenting. What a fabulous example we are setting for our sons and daughters and what fabulous relationships they have to role model from. BRAVO DADS
